Evacuated Tube Collector (ETC) acts as an absorber in the solar water heater. Each evacuated tube consists of two glass tubes having vacuum in between which is an excellent insulator. The incident solar radiation falling on the tube passes through the outer transparent tube and strikes the outer of inner tube. It absorbs heat energy and then passes to the cold water flowing in the tube. An evacuated tube technology based solar water heating system is most energy efficient and cost effective. Working Principle of Heat Pipe Solar Water Heater:

1. Sunlight Capture: Evacuated glass tubes absorb solar radiation, converting it into heat.

2. Heat Transfer: Copper heat pipes (filled with volatile liquid) at the tube core vaporize instantly when heated.

3. Phase-Change Energy Movement: Vapor rises to the condenser bulb at the top, transferring heat to the water tank via a copper manifold.

4. Condensation & Recycling: Heat releases into water, causing vapor to condense back into liquid, flowing down the pipe to repeat the cycle.

5. Passive Circulation: No pumps needed – gravity and phase-change physics drive continuous operation.
